Beadweaving is a unique form of jewelry making: it is the careful stitching together of small beads with thread to create gorgeous pieces of jewelry that can't be created through other methods such as wirework, metalsmithing, or stringing. Beadweaving pieces can range from small, delicate pairs of earrings to the most lavish necklaces you can possibly imagine. Weaving with beads can also be a meditative, relaxing activity that produces beautiful works of art. If you’ve ever wondered how to create intricately beaded pieces of jewelry that look like stunning beaded fabric, this is the class for you!
In this introductory class, students will learn one of the simplest beadweaving stitches - the Right Angle Weave (RAW) - to create a beautiful pair of earrings. Students will learn about the ideal types of beads and thread to use, how to properly weave beads together into an interlocking pattern, how to properly start and end thread, and how to add earring hooks to enjoy their beautiful works of art. The class will also cover how these same techniques can be utilized for creating bracelets and necklaces, as well as how students can continue to grow their skills after class. Students will be given all materials needed to create their art in class as well as extras to take home to keep working.
Class fees are per person.
Class is limited to 8 Students. Masks are optional for vaccinated participants.
